Same as:
- Our definitions of love
- The foundation of our love
- The disciplines of love
Love’s strength relies on its integrity. Disciplined love tempers passion and balances daily relationships with other people.
Healthy love embraces the safe boundaries of honesty and refrains from the unrealistic expectations we tend to place on others to live up to.
If we insist that we are spiritually mature, and ‘righteous’, then practicing what we preach shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Truthfully ask yourself:
What defines my version of love?
- Is my love in lah-lah land, or grounded in God’s truths?
- Is counterfeit love influencing my definitions of love?
- Are my standards in love fair?
- towards others?
- towards myself?
Challenge: Test your standards on yourself today. If you find a moment you think another person should behave or react a certain way in any given situation, apply the behavioral expectation to yourself and do thing you expected them to do.
