Today’s perspective: The kindness of modesty
The expression of loving humility is found when we position ourselves correctly. Meaning: we’re not more or less than we really are.
Humbling ourselves to love a variety of people requires us to nurture the truth of who God says we are. We are small, yet strong. We are emotional, yet balanced. We can be determined to press though bad times, yet remain kind in our pursuits.
Challenge: Today, focus on the loving-kindness found in the positions you hold. Whether your a boss or employee, parent or child, pastor or congregation member – display pride in where you are (not pride that bolsters arrogance, but pride that exhibits gratitude).
Love fosters Humility
Col 3:11 Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all.
Col 3:12 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
Col 3:13 bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Col 3:14 And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.
Col 3:15 And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
