Examine the love aspect of your love:
- The kindness aspect of your love
- The love attribute of your kindness
God is love
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. (1 John 4:7-8 ESV)
Humans are made with the capacity to love and be loved, it is in the blueprints of human emotion and behavior. If we are to develop healthy relationships we must be open to being loved as well as giving love. – The truth is: we are designed to be kind to other humans.
We can be angry in the heat of an argument ‘for the sake of loving something’ and confuse it with love also. Love does not establish justice, truth does. Love establishes loving kindness.
Ask Yourself:
- Do I recognize that God is love?
- Does my love display kindness?
- If my love is measured by past hurts, is my love loving enough to forgive?
- Can I show love without receiving love in return?
- How fake is my kindness?
Challenge: Influence the atmosphere specifically with the love aspect of your love. Use your kindness to change an entire room’s emotional state. It’s possible. Love draws from kindness, kindness draws from love.
Biblical application: It was God’s loving love that broke the curse of death placed on all human souls. Jesus did not come to condemn the world; out of His loving kindness He came and repaired the connection between us and our Father in Heaven, drawing from our Father’s loving love while He walked the earth.
