18/49: Enduring Beauty

Psalms 40:11 (TPT)  So Lord, don’t hold back your love or withhold your tender mercies from me. Keep me in your truth and let your compassion overflow to me no matter what I face.

The distance we go to help others comes from how empathetic we are towards them and their situation.

Showing compassion isn’t about liking someone, it’s about understanding their need and knowing how to provide a solution.

Enduring hardships allows development of empathy. Empathy is necessary when effectively helping someone.

Ask yourself questions like: Does my compassion make it all the way to the end? Meaning: If you start to help someone, do you help them to the finish, no matter what?  If you wane, evaluate where that is drawing from.

Today: Go out of your way to help someone. Find out how far you’re willing to go.
