Friday
Matthew 9:12-13 (TPT)When Jesus overheard this, he spoke up and said, “Healthy people don’t need to see a doctor, but the sick will go for treatment.” (13) Then he added, “Now you should go and study the meaning of the verse: I want you to show mercy, not just offer Me a sacrifice. For I have come to invite the outcasts of society and sinners, not those who think they are already on the right path.”
The positions of humbled service rely on purpose. If motives are for the wrong things, help can turn into hurt. On the other hand, the best help sometimes is for someone in need to learn to help themselves.
To find your base line in humility, ask things like: Do I allow others to do my work too much? Do I do another’s work too much? Is my help directed in the correct place?
Today – One thing at a time. One person at a time. One moment at a time.
