38/49: Mercy in Relationships

Wednesday

Matthew 6:12 (TPT) “Forgive us the wrong we have done as we ourselves release forgiveness to those who have wronged us.”

Forgiveness can be tough at times, but take heart, there comes a moment you can choose to release the person which restores the mercy in that relationship even if you never speak to that person again for the rest of your life.

Forgiveness does not excuse abusive trauma, however it does detach mental bonds to fear which prevents emotional healing. Mercy is as much for others as it is for ourselves.

Breakthrough challenge: Rather than ‘ask yourself’ questions today, take an inventory of people you should forgive. Go to the extent of listing each person that has wronged you on a piece of paper. One by one, speak to them as if they were there and tell them exactly how they hurt you. Then? Forgive them in words and bless them in prayers. At the very end, throw the paper in the trash and take it out with the garbage.
