With Challenges, results are determined…

With challenges, results are determined.

Don’t have to tell you it’s been one tough year to get through. Hopefully, with this quick challenge, it can restore a bit of spiritual strength to remind us that we’re not finished yet. May your holidays be filled with much love, peace and comfort.- W

Let us challenge ourselves for the next two weeks by examining what we could have done better in a year that changed the globe entirely.

This first week is about looking behind. The video is me encouraging you, but basically it’s me explaining this:

Self evaluate how well you displayed your love. Were you honest this past year? How about your mercies and compassion in such a politically charged year? Did you push people away? Did you connect more with others? And how did you behave overall? Take this week to review yourself with everything you did this past year.

Now, rate yourself using 1 through 5, 5 being the highest, as the measure for each inner character in use this past year overall: Love, Strength, Beauty, Victory, Humility, Bonds, Sovereignty.

Now – rate how you think God would have rated you in those categories? What about those you’re around frequently? How about strangers?

With that, here is how Paul reveals the raw mindset it takes to end well and why we want it that way:

Php 3:12-16 (12) It’s not that I have already reached this goal or have already become perfect. But I keep pursuing it, hoping somehow to embrace it just as I have been embraced by the Messiah Jesus. (13) Brothers, I do not consider myself to have embraced it yet. But this one thing I do: Forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead,(14) I keep pursuing the goal to win the prize of God’s heavenly call in the Messiah Jesus.(15) Therefore, those of us who are mature should think this way. And if you think differently about anything, God will show you how to think.(16) However, we should live up to what we have achieved so far.

We might not always display the best version of ourself but ignoring correction in all of its tones can and will cause us to be deaf to God’s voice.

Let 2020 be your defining year- the one you not only survived but the one which gave you back your purpose, or taught you meaningful strength, or may be something that made you better… whatever it is just don’t allow regret or remorse have an ounce of attention or you will miss God’s deep wisdom, understanding and knowledge of what makes you the best version of you. It is in the crushing of ore the minor finds the real treasures.

Until next week- W
